Hi friends,
It’s been a while! I wanted to pop in here with a little update 🌸
My creative journey has grown and evolved beautifully over the years, and I’ve moved to some new online spaces where I now share my latest illustrations, surface pattern designs, and projects inspired by nature, birds, and Ukrainian folk art.
✨ You can now find me at my official website: www.yuliiabahniuk.com
There you’ll find my updated portfolio, licensing info, and links to all the other places I’m active. I'm also planning to start a new blog there.
If you’ve enjoyed my art here, I’d be so happy to stay connected with you! 💛
Let’s meet again on Instagram: @yuliiabahniuk
And on Behance: behance.net/yuliiabahniuk
Thank you so much for your past support here — it meant a lot and still does. I’m sending you a big warm hug from India (where I currently live with my husband and our mischievous cat Toothless 🐾)!
With love,
Yuliia 🌿✨🕊️

I decided to update my tutorial about creating seamless pattern in Illustrator and add few other ways that may be more convenient for you.
For those of you who have Illustrator CS6 or CC there is a good news, the process of creating seamless pattern became automatic, so now every beginner can solve this task easily. Just select your object and click on Object>Pattern>Make. When you do so, your objects will automatically transform into a pattern and the Pattern Options dialog box will appear. When you look at the Pattern Options dialog box you will see many options - try them and change until you get the result you want.
For those of you who have Illustrator of earlier versions - I'll tell now few ways and tools of creating pattern.
The first way
This way is perfect especially for easy patterns consisting of few objects.
Here is the final pattern we will receive.
If you wonder what tools I use and how I usually draw in Illustrator - here is a little tutorial.
Firstly I normally draw sketch on the paper, using pencil or ink pan. Then I scan it(or make a photo if you haven't scanner). And then put into Illustrator, to draw.
If I want to create seamless pattern, to be more convenient I draw on the paper square, so I can imagine how to place objects and what of them will be out the artboard.
Let's start!
I remembered about my illustration for last year's Christmas. And it perfectly fits this week's Illustration Friday topic "Soar"
